Having someone stay overnight

Guests are allowed by prior arrangement. Ask us at least 24 hours before they are due to arrive.

The policy, in full

  • Request it at least 24 hours in advance. Your guest cannot stay before we have agreed to it.
  • A stay is between one and three nights.
  • Check first what an overnight guest might do to your Housing Benefit, or to the housing element of Universal Credit.
  • Your tenancy continues unchanged. You remain responsible for all of its conditions, including anything your guest does, such as damage or antisocial behaviour.
  • Your guest gets no tenancy of any part of the property, and the flat must not become overcrowded.
  • We can refuse a request where there is a concern about your safety, or another resident’s.

What we need from you

  • Your guest’s full name
  • Your guest’s address
  • Which flat and building you are in
  • How many nights, between one and three
  • The date they arrive
  • A photograph of your guest’s identification

Make the request

Fill this in and it reaches the housing team. We will write to you with an answer.

Send this at least 24 hours before your guest is due. They cannot stay until we have agreed to it.
