Permissions
Asking us for something
Pets, improvements and overnight guests are all usually possible. They need our permission first, and each one is looked at on its own.
Keeping a pet
We recognise what a pet is worth to someone living on their own. Permission is usually given where the flat suits it and the animal will be properly looked after.

Most improvements are possible. We check them for legal, structural and safety reasons, and for the effect on your neighbours.

Guests are allowed by prior arrangement. Ask us at least 24 hours before they are due to arrive.

It is your home
We aim to give every tenant a home they can live in properly, which means keeping a pet, changing something about the flat, or having someone stay should all be real options.
The reason permission exists is not to make it difficult. It is because these buildings are shared: one flat’s hard floor is the flat below’s noise problem, and an electrical job done badly is everyone’s fire risk. Asking lets us check the things you cannot see from inside your own front door.
Permission is not withheld unreasonably. If we say no, we tell you why.
